JOURANL & MAGAZINES

The Directorate of Kokborok & OML has been relentlessly thriving towards the development of Kokborok and 7 other Minority Languages of the state of Tripura since its inception in the year 2012. Kokborok being one of the state languages of the state of Tripura attracts paramount importance as per the activities of the Directorate of Kokborok & OML is concerned. Keeping this in mind, the Directorate has introduced Online Kokborok Learning Course for the Govt. employees of the state of Tripura from the FY 2021-22. Apart from this, to encourage literary activities in Kokborok the Directorate of Kokborok & OML is regularly publishing 2 nos.  literary magazines, namely – KUMPUI & IMANGNI KHUMBER. Along with this, the Directorate has published 53 nos. Kokborok literary books of various writers, till date. Today, Kokborok language has crossed the boundary of the schools and it is being taught upto MA level. Moreover, Ph.D in Kokborok has already been introduced in the Tripura University.

Along with Kokborok language the Directorate of Kokborok & Other Minority Languages has been working towards the development of 7 other minority languages, like – Chakma, Halam, Kuki-Mizo, Garo, Mog, Manipuri & Bishnupriya Manipuri since its inception. The Directorate is regularly publishing separate literary Magazines for all the Minority languages. Apart from this, literary/reference books in Chakma, Bishnupriya Manipuri, Halam, Kuki-Mizo, Manipuri language has been published from this Directorate. All these minority languages are today taught in various schools of Tripura at various levels.

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

  1. The Journal will contain research articles on tribal life, cultural and socio-economic condition of the tribals of Tripura, short study report related to the tribal art/culture/literature/education/language, Linguistic research article and short research work related to the tribes of Tripura. The Journal will be published in English.
  2. Authors are requested to submit their papers/manuscripts to the Directorate of Kokborok & Other Minority Languages in both Hard & soft copy (in a CD in MS Word format). The same need to be submitted to the Directorate’s e-mail dkmltripura@gmail.com in pdf format.
  3. Work submitted to the journal must be original and not submitted elsewhere for publication.
  4. Writer/s will be solely responsible regarding any copyright violation. In this regard, a self-declaration [enclosed herewith at Annexure-I] is to be submitted along with the manuscript.
  5. The manuscript should be written in English.
  6. The first page of the manuscript should contain the following information: (i) Title; (ii) Author(s); (iii) Institutional Affiliation/s (if any); (iv) Abstract of not more than 150 words; (v) three to five keywords; (vi) corresponding author in case of multiple authors. A footnote on the same sheet should give the name, address, telephone number and e-mail address of the corresponding author.
  7. Acknowledgments and information on grants received should be given in a first footnote, which should not be included in the consecutive numbering of footnotes.
  8. Manuscripts should be in 1.5 spacing, with 1-inch margins (A4 size) with pages numbered consecutively.
  9. The manuscript should be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections and sub-sections which must contain the essential elements such as Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusions, Artwork/Figure and Tables. Titles and subtitles of sections should be short.
  10. References, tables, and figures should be on separate pages. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively in the text in Arabic numerals.
  11. Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and numbered consecutively throughout the text with superscript Arabic numerals. Footnotes should be single spaced and not include displayed formulae or tables.
  12. Displayed formulae should be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscripts as (1), (2), etc. against the right-hand margin of the page. In cases where the derivation of formulae has been abbreviated, it is of great help to the referees if the full derivation can be presented on a separate sheet (not to be published).
  13. References should appear at the end of the main text before tables and figures. It should be single spaced and listed in alphabetical order by the author's name.
